Alright, they’re up! Here are my top 5 picks from this month’s $5 albums for the month of June from AmazonMP3:

Death Cab For Cutie – Codes and Keys

Death Cab For Cutie - Codes and Keys
Brand new Death Cab For Cutie album that just came out yesterday. Haven’t had a chance to listen, but I’ve never been let down by these guys.

Foo Fighters – Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace

Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace
Can't really go wrong with the Foo Fighters on this one. It's just a fun rock and roll album.

Two Door Cinema Club – Tourist History

Two Door Cinema Club - Tourist History
It's like dance rock. I don't really have a good way of describing it, but I find myself coming back to this album.

Anberlin – New Surrender

Anberlin - New Surrender
Another rock album. Probably not their best album, but these guys bring the goods.

Buddy Holly – Greatest Hits

Buddy Holly - Greatest Hits
Just reminds me of summer time and listening to K-EARTH 101FM

Best $5 Albums on AmazonMP3 (April)

No, this is not an April fool’s joke. Every month I try to pick the five best albums on AmazonMP3’s 100 $5 albums. This month has definitely got some winners, and here they are. I’ve put my short thoughts below each album:

Augustana – Can’t Love, Can’t Hurt

This rock album is one I come back to often. Augustana has got the goods–no doubt about it.

Leeland – Opposite Way

Good worship record. Leeland usually has solid lyrics and I’m always challenged by his writing.

Owl City – Ocean Eyes

Say what you want about this digital pop, but it’s catchy, and it’s good. I just listened to this album yesterday.

Sigur Ros – Takk…

Icelandic rock music with classical elements. Confused yet? Just listen to them.

Raphael Saadiq – The Way I See It

One word: classic. This is your mom’s music and your music rolled in to one.

5 Albums for $5

Alright, here are my picks of the top 5, $5 albums on Amazon.com/MP3 for the month of March. If you’re still buying music on iTunes, you’re wasting your money. Please, make the switch. You’ll save money and you won’t miss iTunes one bit.

The Civil Wars - Barton HollowHere’s a brand new record from the duet The Civil Wars that deserves every accolade it gets. You might recognize the girl because it’s Joy Williams (old school, Christian girl artist). I don’t love this album, but the title track “Barton Hollow” and the incredible “Poison & Wine” are with double what you’ll pay.

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed AmericanThe “breakthrough” record for Jimmy Eat World. It’s a classic, no doubt.

Counting Crows - August and Everything After

Despite how you feel about 90’s bands, this record from Counting Crows just has hit after hit after hit. I know you probably here it every time you’re in a department store, but “Mr. Jones” is just a great song.

Incubus - Morning ViewProbably one of the most under appreciated bands in rock music is Incubus. Sure, you heard them on the radio every now and then, but it was never the song I wanted them to play. Morning View was a new direction for Incubus, but they still kept their flavor.

David Gray - White LadderJust a great, chill record. Dave Matthews signed David to his own label and this record was the first release. If you don’t have it, buy it.

Runners-up:
Eisley – The Valley – Brand new record from Eisley, which is dropping today. The song “Smarter” is worth the record.
The Killers – Hot Fuss – I just dig this record sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes.
