Shaycam.com has always been about what I’m doing or what I’m thinking about. I say this because I feel like lately all I’ve been able to post are wedding photos from people you don’t know. But the reality is, all I’m doing right are weddings, so it makes sense for me to post some of my work.

The image above is from a wedding I did this weekend. I was hired by a great photographer, Jen O’Sullivan of Save The Date Photo, to be the principal photographer for her. Also, I wanted to say thanks to everyone who faithfully reads and checks my blog. July will mark 7 years of the official Shaycam.com and it’s been great to have many friends and family continue to read my blog over the thousands of others that have sprung up over the years.

I’m convinced that as a photographer you are only offered so many “money shots” (as I call them) per shoot. These are the kind of shots that you take and then instantly know you’re gonna love it. During a wedding yesterday I made the comment that you are probably given about 10 “money shots” per wedding–the one above is one of those shots.

Well, the people have spoken. Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of requests to post my photography portfolio–so, I did! You can view my photography portfolio at www.shaythomason.com.

I remember studying and learning vocabulary in school, and it was always best to try and use the words in real life to really learn them. So of course you spend the week trying to figure out how to tell someone there is “clishmaclaver” going around, but they have no clue what you’re talking about and you’re laughing because it’s about them! Well, I ran into a similar discussion this week with a friend about saying the words, “I’m busy” when asked “how are you doing?” Or you might rephrase it by saying, “I’ve been busy”, “I’m stressed”, or my favorite, “It’s intense right now.” But a friend and me were talking this week and he was saying he prefers the phrase “life is full right now.” His reasoning is that “I’m busy” makes it sound like you are out of control or don’t have order in your life, but by saying “life is full” you are giving off a more organized version of yourself. I guess it doesn’t matter which I choose at this point, it’s all semantics, but I guess you could say life is full right now for me.

As many of you know I’m doing a lot more photography of late. I spent this past weekend on the beach at a wedding and then I jumped around in a bounce house at a 3-year-olds birthday party. Both were great times and I thought you all would enjoy a few shots I got while I was living my full life:

Many of you know how much I love photography and how it brings me much happiness. That’s why I am excited to tell you all about Titles and Images. Basically it’s my little “photo a day” site for some of my work. One image will be uploaded with a title every single day (around 6-7pm). Honestly, it’s true… every day!
